Giving Brothers the opportunity to “opt-out” of mailed monthly notices and receiving them via email will save the lodge money.


Grand Constitutions (Section 711) requires all “notices of Lodge meetings containing any Masonic information beyond the time and place of such meeting must be sent out in sealed envelopes.”

However, in April of 2009, the Grand Secretary updated the Policy of Email Lodge Notices with the following:

“The Grand Secretary will allow a Brother to “opt out” of receiving a printed notice by written request to the Lodge Secretary. The written request must be kept on file by the Secretary.

This file must be kept up to date and presented to the District Deputy Grand Master for his review at his annual inspection of the records of the Lodge.”

Notices MUST be a scan of the original notice.
